I put both of these on ebay. Both this smocked dress and the one from the previous post sold for $50. The unsmocked sundress is still on for $35. Obviously people prefer the smocking on their dolls' clothes.
A blog about my dolls house room boxes and the miniature dolls and tiny textiles. A place for me to blog the dolls' clothes I smock for American Girl Dolls and for 1950s English Pedigree Dolls.

Outfit for vintage 28 inche Pedigree doll from 1950s
Today I finished an outfit for a large 28" Brighton Belle Pedigree doll. I used fabric from 1970s as well and poplin for the petticoat and pants. I am testing the waters on ebay with this one and if it sells then I will start making more to sell. If not, it doesn't matter because my own doll looks great wearing it. What looks like pink "smudges" are other roses shadowing through from the yoke lining.

Vintage doll's dress for a Commission
I see I that I haven't blogged on here for a year. During that time, I nursed my lovely husband through his illness (cancer) until his death in February of this year. After a full six months I am finally getting back to sewing again. This little vintage doll was given to me by her owner to re-dress and the only stipulation was that it had to be a blue dress. Here she is before and after. Her vintage voile dress and bonnet are fully lined and underneath she wears taffeta pants and separate petticoat.
As she arrived in old knitted dress and bonnet. |
Her undergarments - blousy knickers and separate petticoat |
Finished smocked voile dress and bonnet. I hope her Mum loves her. |
